For a Harder, Larger Penis
Did I get your attention? Here’s the quick version with details to follow.
Erections and male orgasms happen because of a combination of blood flow, hormones, as well as physical and emotional states. The P-Shot® involves taking platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your blood and injecting it into your penile tissue. The P-Shot® aims to improve blood flow, repair and regenerate damaged tissue, and establish (or re-establish) neural pathways for better sensation and stimulation. This leads to a larger, firmer, and more sensitive penis.
The Nuts and Bolts
What is PRP?
Platelets are the first line of defense in tissue injury and repair. At the site of injury, the platelets first stop the bleeding then release a slew of growth factors (they contain more than 30 bioactive proteins). These growth factors stimulate cellular regeneration and tissue repair. We get the platelets from your own blood. We start by drawing a few tablespoons of blood from your arm and use a FDA cleared centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. Using aseptic technique, we activate the platelets to form a platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM), a solution of activated platelets and growth factors. The PRFM is then injected into the penis to stimulate repair and regeneration. And if anyone ever tells you that there are no randomized placebo controlled studies to prove this in human penises…yeah, they’re right. But there are plenty of human studies showing the regenerative benefits in other tissues as well as biopsy studies in other animal penises that prove benefit (would you sign up for a study that you may have a 50% chance of getting a placebo (salt water) injected into you penis AND have biopsy samples of your penis taken before, at three weeks, and 3 months after the “sham” treatment? – it would be a hard sell to get that study done). However, since Dr. Runels first injected PRP into his own penis in 2010, thousands of men have benefited from the procedure.
What benefits can a man have from the P-Shot®?
- Stronger firmer erections
- Easier to achieve and maintain erections (i.e. improved sexual function)
- Increased sensitivity in the penis
- Increased penile length and girt
- Improvement in or resolution of penile curvature from Peyronie’s Disease
- Resolution of penile pain with erection
- Better overall blood flow to the penis
How long does this life changing procedure take? Does it hurt? What are the risks?
From start to finish it’s about 60 minutes. We first have you put numbing cream at the site of the injection to let it have enough time to work while we prepare the injection. Blood is then drawn and processed. The procedure itself takes less than 5 minutes to perform. During the PRP injection you might feel a brief burning sensation, but no pain. You can drive yourself home and resume regular activities immediately after the procedure. The most common side effects are some minor bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Since the PRP is from your own blood, there are no risks of an allergic reaction.
How soon will I see results?
You will see results immediately, but this is due to the volume of the PRP injected. Over the next three days, some of the volume is absorbed by the body. Then there is growth of new tissue that continues for at least 12 weeks – bringing the volume back up as well is increased sensitivity.
